The Tub Cart was the safest and
easiest of all the horse-drawn carts to drive, which is
how it became safe enough for the Governess or Nanny to
take the families children out in.
A small pony or donkey was suitable for
pulling this cart. The only problem was the driver position
which was sitting longitudinal to the direction of travel,
so you were side on to the horse/pony.
To overcome this, a section in the centre
of the right hand seat was removed to allow the driver a
slight twist, to face the front.

All wood is heart Rimu, with
seat covers and back-rest padding being Velveteen.
All metal work is brass.
