255 mm (including milk churn)

This waggon was built from John Thomson plans of a float made by Vincent's of London in 1898, and may be the last vehicle made by the firm.

The original float has been set up for exhibition purposes.

This vehicle has a cranked axel, which lowers the body, and adds to the safety.

The milk churn is held by chains on either side to hold it in place. A spigot is let into the bottom of the churn to draw off milk into measures, which hang inside the cart on the right hand side. The cupboard under the driver's seat is for dairy products and cream.

The metal work poses a problem to the novice, but is a useful learning piece.

Wood is Rimu, with brass metal work.
The finish is with Danish oils.
