This
jewellery box was the result of a friends request for a
box with lots of small compartments.
She
had just returned from the United States, having seen a
box that she really wanted, but the price was too high and
time was short.
The
box she tried to describe to me sounded like Kellams
Stack Box. I knew of these box makers, but would
not try and match the skill and finish Thom and Sue Anne
Kellam achieve, so I set out to design a Kiwi Stack Box.
This
is MK1; the design went through a few refinements, with
the next box being 1 stack lower, which looks better. These
2 boxes are now both in use by friends, for whom they were
made (lending to why the dimensions are approximate only).

The wood is Oil-soaked Matai,
which has given this piece a unique appearance.
